Historically high level optimism

Our survey results indicate brightening sentiment among manufacturing firms in early 2015. Although the majority of enterprises still deem both their present situation and future outlook mediocre, only a fraction of them expect worsening conditions. Optimism is gaining ground, irrespective to the size or the field of activity – microenterprises and big firms are optimistic as well. The stock of order is high, while the stock of finished products is on the low side. Although half of the respondents is still complaining about the economic environment, the perceived demand for manufacturing goods is on the rise. The Russia-Ukraine conflict put a dent on the demand for the output of firms heavily oriented toward the Eastern markets; on the other hand, more and more enterprises are becoming optimistic about the prospects of domestic demand.
